The challenge of striving for more and feeling out of place for many years has led me to embrace a new journey as a full-time artist in 2019. I left behind a successful elementary school teaching career, and reshaped my priorities to focus on my wellbeing, family and passion for fine arts.
My artistic process has always been a self-exploration back to stillness. Birds and Canadian imagery are intertwined in most of my work, symbolizing freedom of spirit; a reflection of finding strength in my stories and experiences.
Through every layer, no matter the medium, I reveal myself to the world—my dreams, thoughts, and obsessions. As I create these images, I rediscover my inner peace and calm, and explore my identity as an autistic woman, mother, wife, teacher and advocate. I hope my artwork is a conduit for healing and allows my viewers to explore their own self-awareness.
